Licensed Psychologist

OCD, Anxiety & Failure to Launch
•
Teens, Young Adults, Adults
You understand your problems better than most people. You’ve analyzed them, maybe read about them, maybe even been to therapy before. And you’re still stuck — still in your head, still not where you thought you’d be. Dr. Jamal Waire works with people who are ready to stop analyzing and start actually living differently. His approach is practical, compassionate, and grounded in a conviction he means: you already have everything you need.

The VPG Difference
All Vivid Psychology Group clinicians are trained in ERP and specialize in anxiety and OCD treatment. This is our core focus, not a side offering.
Specializes In
Who Dr. Waire Works With
Teens
Dr. Waire works with teenagers navigating OCD, anxiety, depression, and the pressure that comes with high expectations. He brings parents into the process as active participants — because how a family responds to a teen’s struggles matters as much as what happens in the therapy room.
Young Adults
He has a particular focus on young adults who feel stuck — whether that’s Failure to Launch, the gap between expectations and reality after college, or a life transition that’s harder to navigate than expected. He helps clients get out of their heads and start taking action in line with what actually matters to them.
Adults
He works with adults navigating OCD, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and relationship challenges. Many of his clients are highly motivated and curious — people who think deeply about their problems and are ready for a therapy approach that matches that depth.
Dr. Waire's Approach
Dr. Waire takes a practical, compassion-focused approach rooted in values and meaning — not just symptom management. He draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), CBT, and DBT, always starting by understanding how a client’s behavior makes sense in the context of their life rather than applying a clinical label to it. His clients often say they appreciated learning not just what they were doing in treatment, but why — and that they felt less judged and more understood from the start. He brings directness and humor into the room when it fits, because he believes growth happens when you’re willing to sit with discomfort rather than talk around it. One thing he wants clients to know before they start: you’re not broken. Therapy doesn’t fix you; it helps you access what’s already there.

What People Are Saying
“I worked with Dr. Waire for several months on distress tolerance, in conjunction with another provider with whom I did exposures. Dr. Waire was essential to my recovery. His guidance so perfectly complemented the exposure work I did, especially since my anxiety concerns a fear of anxiety and not being able to tolerate it. I could not have gotten where I am without the help of Dr. Waire. I am so grateful. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Waire.”
